Describe your most positive experience in working on a group project in which the group’s cohesiveness led to greater work productivity.  Have you experienced a situation that was just the opposite – a situation in which group cohesiveness negatively impacted the productivity of the project? Describe your most positive experience in working on a group project in which the group’s cohesiveness led to greater work productivity. “Group cohesion is defined as the degree to which a group exists or operates as a unified entity.” (Losh, S. 2011) At my children’s school, there is a group named, P.I.A (Parents in Action) and we meet monthly about the things that are transpiring in our school. The Dean, at our school was handling our children and situations unethically, she was rude and disrespectful. The P.I.A., worked cohesively, until we accomplished our goal of having her removed from our children’s school.  Have you experienced a situation that was just the opposite – a situation in which group cohesiveness negatively impacted the productivity of the project? A couple of months ago, our Youth department was planning a trip to “Six flags Great America” for our church. The Youth department worked cohesively in scheduling a date to go, the amount of each ticket, transportation there and back, and arranging the care of the youth for whose parents were unable to go. Conversely, we as a cohesive group failed to mention the deadline for the purchase of the tickets. Even though we worked as a group, we all had our on part in planning this event. This failure negatively affected the children from having the opportunity to go to “Six flags Great America”.
