Over the past several years, human trafficking has become a sizable world-wide problem. Human trafficking is the trade of human beings and their use by criminals to make money and has a considerable affect on the World and United States today. Despite the United Nations having officially abolished slavery and the slave trade more than 60 years ago, millions of human beings continue to be enslaved. This is a tragic but very profitable illegal business, generating $31 billion annually and enslaving 27 million people around the globe. The victims consist of young men and woman and half of them being children under the age of eighteen years old.
